To help address this problem, we work with a number of schools and charity partners worldwide to donate 2% of our global revenue to connect those in need with essential oral care products.

Fighting hygiene poverty - one brush at a time

According to the World Health Organisation, nearly 3.7 billion people globally suffer from some form of oral disease. In fact, untreated dental caries (tooth decay) is the most common health condition worldwide. Severe gum (periodontal) diseases - linked directly to poor hygiene and lower access to care - are estimated to affect more than 1 billion people globally.

Hygiene poverty goes beyond appearance - it deeply affects a person's physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Without access to everyday essentials like toothbrushes or toothpaste, people can face preventable health issues, lowered self-esteem, and social isolation. The shame and stress of being unable to stay clean can impact education, employment, and relationships, creating a cycle that’s hard to break. Addressing hygiene poverty is essential to protecting dignity, confidence, and overall wellbeing for everyone.

Over 500,000 toothbrushes distributed to people in need

In 2025, we achieved a major milestone: over 500,000 toothbrushes distributed throughout our program. For some, it was their first toothbrush they've ever had that was truly their own.

With that, we've also donated over 2 million brushing challenge charts to help encourage healthy brushing habits.

30-Day Brushing Challenge

Alongside dental experts and partners, we co-developed a Brushing Challenge chart to encourage morning and evening brushing for children and their families. This sticker chart rewards children (and their guardians) for brushing for 2 minutes, twice a day for 30 days and has created long-lasting effects within ths homes of our brush and chart recipients.

To date, we've donated over 2 million brushing challenge charts. Within this, we've collaborated with over 30 schools across New Zealand to deliver the Brushing Challenge resources within their schools.
